Common Projector Problems

May 05, 2015

You’ve spent endless hours practicing your speech. You put together a dynamite visual presentation, and you’re ready to “wow” your audience. It’s time to set up the projector and get everything ready for the event, when all of a sudden you experience problems with the machine. What do you do?

video projector

Nowadays, projectors are a staple in most business meetings and presentations because of their ability to accompany a speech with visual aids. While they can really enhance your event, there are a few problems you may face when operating an LCD projector. But don’t worry, it’s usually a quick fix!

Purple Dots

If you turn the machine on only to notice pink or purple dots on the screen, it means there are dust particles in the green panel. Dust particles can affect the quality of the images you are displaying, so you should clean the projector regularly to eliminate this problem.

Poor Image Quality

Are your images blurry or distorted? This can be a result of an unaligned computer resolution. Most new projectors come with an automatic alignment feature but if yours doesn’t have one, all you need to do is adjust the computer’s resolution until the images improve.

Remote Control Isn’t Working

If your remote doesn’t seem to be working, check the batteries first. If it still doesn’t work after replacing the batteries, move a bit closer to the machine. Most remote controls have a recommended distance range and you may be too far away.

Need a projector for your next event? Whether you need the actual machine, or would simply like to rent projection screens, CitiView Audio Visual has you covered! Give us a call today at 212-632-5196.

Tips For A Successful Webcast

Sep 08, 2015

Is your business looking to build better customer relationships, launch exciting new products or strengthen your brand? Although many companies know these are vital components of any business, they don’t know how to do it successfully. So, what’s the trick? Webcasting is an extremely effective tool – but make sure you follow the tips below:

  1. Build Awareness: while webcasts are great tools for reaching a large number of people without spending a fortune, having the right audience is key. Building awareness will help optimize your success and ensure that your target audience is reached. You may want to consider building a pre-event website and sending pre-registration emails.
  2. Create a Checklist: make sure your webcast runs smoothly by creating a pre-event checklist. You’ll need to have the proper internet infrastructure, find out what audio visual equipment will be required and carefully plan out your business objectives.
  3. Quality Streaming: without the right equipment, it’s going to be difficult to put on a quality webcast. The audio visual equipment is only one step, but you also need to make sure you have a quality encoder, the right software and streaming support infrastructure – that’s where we come in!

At CitiView Audio Visual, we have what it takes to conduct a webcast that leaves a lasting impression. From Multi-Camera Switching to Picture-in-Picture and Content Delivery systems we’ve got you covered. Give us a call today at 212-632-5196 to learn more.

Why Use A Confidence Monitor?

Sep 14, 2015

What’s one of the most important qualities to display while presenting? If you said “confidence” you’re absolutely right. There’s nothing worse than listening to somebody speak if they are timid or nervous and we’ve got the perfect solution for that! Having a confidence monitor in front of you while you present can make a world of difference.

What is a Confidence Monitor?

We’ve gone through the importance of making your event stand out with visuals – it’s a great way to connect with your audience and keep them engaged. While you’re displaying slides or photos on a large projection screen behind you, a confidence monitor will help you stay focused while keeping your eyes on the crowd. With a confidence monitor in front of you, you’ll be able to see exactly what your audience sees without turning around, which can be very distracting to the folks in front of you!

How can it Help?

Think of it as a larger scale note card or cheat sheet. With a confidence monitor you’ll be able to breeze through your presentation while staying on topic and you’ll be much less likely to overlook or skip important points.

Keep in mind that a confident delivery will help get your message across to the audience and can help make your event a success! Contact CitiView Audio Visual today to rent a confidence monitor and stay poised and in control during your next presentation.

Keeping the audience engaged can be pretty tricky. I’ve found that handouts that follow the presentation can really help a lot. Also lots of media can keep people entertained and listening too! Thanks for the tips, Cole!
