Why Hire A Professional Audio Engineer?

May 11, 2015 by Steve Rick in  Live Events

There are certain things you should leave to the pros and recording your events is definitely one of them. If you want to make sure everything is captured, clear and heard without any problems hiring a professional audio engineer is a must. After all, you have plenty of other things to take care of during the day of the event.

Why Record Your Event?

Whether you want to use the content in your next podcast, in a future promo video or simply to look back on as a fond memory, it’s always a smart choice to record your event.

Experience Is Key

Why leave something so important in the hands of an amateur? Recording your live events is something that shouldn’t be overlooked and if key pieces are left out, you’re going to regret it. That’s why you should choose somebody with years of experience and technical training, like the pros at CitiView.

Clarity

Want your audio to sound to be crystal clear? With state of the art equipment and technology you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for. This may not be the case if you decide to go with a beginner.

How To Choose A Projection Screen

Jul 02, 2015

Size. Aspect ratio. Material. There’s a lot more to a projection screen than you may have thought and they can be the most vital part of a visual presentation. With so many options to choose from it can make your decision seem nearly impossible, but if you stick to these basic guidelines you’ll be able to put on a crystal clear display for your audience.

Consider The Size

Before you go ahead and rent a projection screen for your event, you need to consider the size of the room it’s going to be in and how many people will be focusing their eyes on the screen. Projectors create a limited amount of light and as you increase the image size, you decrease the overall brightness. At CitiView, we are stocked with projection screens ranging from 5ft. to 20ft. wide so we can accommodate just about any size room.

Width of the Screen vs. Height

Another important piece of the puzzle is the aspect ratio, or the proportions between the width of the screen and its height. Most projectors come equipped with a 16×9 display meaning a 16-foot-wide screen should be 9 feet tall. However, your screen doesn’t have to be 16×9 just because the projector is. There are plenty of ways you can adjust the projector to fill the screen.

Material

All projection screens are made from the same material, right? Wrong. Most basic screens are made from a smooth, vinyl material but there are also perforated and woven screens available. It’s a good idea to speak with the venue to find out what kind of lighting is used in the room because this will affect how the images show up on the screen’s material.

Recording a live event in order to help preserve the memory or use it later in a podcast or promo video is excellent advice. You never know when you might be able to use something later so you want to prepare now. I would imagine that hiring a professional will also be able to help you make sure to get all of the event and will allow you to focus your attention on the event.
